Louis Pauwels

Louis Pauwels, né à Paris le 2 août 1920 et mort à Suresnes le 28 janvier 1997, était un journaliste et écrivain français. Rédacteur à *Gavroche* en 1945 et à l'hebdomadaire *Carrefour* à partir de 1949, il devient en 1950 rédacteur en chef de *Combat,* journal auquel il collaborait régulièrement depuis 1946. Il dirige ensuite le mensuel *Marie-France,* puis fonde avec Jacques Bergier la fameuse revue *Planète,* consacrée à la science, à la philosophie et à l'ésotérisme, qu'il dirigera pendant six ans. *L'Amour monstre* écrit en 1954 et *Le Matin des magiciens,* co-écrit avec Jacques Bergier en 1960, constituent ses œuvres majeures. En 1978, il fonde le *Figaro Magazine,* qu'il dirige jusqu'en 1993. ---------- Louis Pauwels, born in Paris on August 2, 1920 and died in Suresnes on January 28, 1997, was a French journalist and writer. Editor at *Gavroche* in 1945 and at the weekly *Carrefour* from 1949, he became editor-in-chief of Combat in March 1950, a newspaper to which he had contributed regularly since 1946. He then directed the monthly *Marie-France*, then founded with Jacques Bergier the famous magazine *Planète*, devoted to science, philosophy and esotericism, which he directed for six years. *L'Amour monstre* written in 1954 and *Le Matin des magiciens*, co-written with Jacques Bergier in 1960, constitute his major works. In 1978, he founded *Figaro Magazine*, which he directed until 1993.
