The Velvet Bag Memoirs

Eight-year-old twins Asa and Prentiss Fallmark are spending the summer with their grandparents. Grammy and Papa set a goal for the month-long vacation: the twins are to investigate and stretch their imaginations without the use of television, electronic gadgets, or radio. Each morning, the siblings board their aimagination transportera at the top of a hill adjacent to their grandparentsa home. The twins have remarkable adventures in the land they call Serendipity where they abuilda the magic cottage and meet many new friends who provide them with mystical gifts. The children become integral parts of exciting experiences in which they must use their minds and imaginations to overcome conflict. Scientific studies they learned in school develop special meanings as they explore Serendipity. Hints occur throughout the story that the grandparents know more about Serendipity than the children realize. Could it be that Grammy and Papa have magical powers?
