Surviving the Holocaust:

This volume recounts the experiences of one Jewish family, and how some of their members survived or succumbed to the evils of the holocaust. Their survival was, in large measure, due to the integrity and persistence of Nachman Fryszberg aka Peter Jablonski. Peter lost both parents in the Ghetto created by the Nazis in the city of Lublin, Poland. He nevertheless guided his cousin George from the Warsaw Ghetto to a haven in the Carpathian Mountains. From there, George was transported to England and then to the United States. George remained a close confidant of Peter's for the remainder of Peter's life. Peter discovered another orphan, Walter, in a bombed out building entrapped and severely injured by the explosion. At one point, Peter, Walter and three fellow fugitives lived in an underground hide out for five months. Peter made certain that Walter was delivered safely to an orphanage for proper care. This is the story of how the three of them survived the Nazis and the holocaust that raged all around them.
