Dr. Blackshire has spent her life searching for clues that would lead her to uncovering the truth behind her great family's origins. Determined to discover the truth, the herpetologist creates a name for herself, adopting the title of 'The Snake Whisperer', appearing on television shows around the world, showcasing her rather unique ability to communicate with snakes. With the help of a colleague, Dr. Shardlow, the herpetologist works on creating a viable cure for cancer, reverse-engineering the destructive qualities of sea snake venom in an attempt to eradicate cancer cells before they can plague the body. Their motives appear to be good, serving humanity by defeating the dreaded disease once and for all. However, corruption, murder and discord divide the two scientists. Dr. Blackshire moves forwards with her own research, carrying out unethical experiments in the name of science. When grief finds her again, Dr. Blackshire is faced with a difficult choice.
