On the Back of the Tiger

Nick Wallace returns from Iraq with no job, anger issues, and a strong aversion to being shot at. His plans for peace hit a snag when he comes to the aid of a young woman during a vicious kidnapping attempt at a diner in Oregon. Now the former Marine finds himself caught in the middle of an escalating conflict between Heaven's Children, a fundamentalist cult headed by the charismatic Father Bernard, and a close-knit, well-armed family with several bodyguards and even more secrets. Nick must heal his own battle scars, but feels honor-bound to protect the innocent from the aggressors. As tensions rise, it becomes increasingly difficult to determine who the aggressors are, and if anyone is truly innocent.
