About this book

Liselotte One hundred years fly by when climbing up the Krampus Industries hierarchy, one Christmas Eve shift at a time. Tomorrow I’ll retire to Krampus Village with my one missing piece—a Krampus male to sire the next generation. After the Krampus males trampled me for one hundred years, I’d rather bed one of the possessed pine trees of Christmas Island than them. They only want me because I’m one of the three Krampuses who can portal to the human realm at will, not because they love me. I possess the power to make Christmas every day on Earth, but it comes at a great cost—hiding my ability from Santa and his elves. They’ll lose it when I, the only female in the highest Krampus caste, convert a human into a Krampus husband. It will be a challenge to conduct the ritual before Santa’s elf assassins can take him from me…but I selected my fiancé twelve years ago and he’s fit for the challenge. Gerhard While my son’s antics greyed my hair during the year, my annual game night with Ms. Krampus on Christmas Eve made every embarrassing brush with the authorities worth it. I never signed up for the single-dad role, but my bitter divorce twelve years ago forced my hand. My son spiraled out of control but slowly found his place in society—thanks in part to Ms. Krampus. Sending my son, Dirk, to college means he’s grown out of her jurisdiction, but she’s sipping coffee at my poker table. In the game’s pot is the adventure of a lifetime, but why me? Surely a retired P.E. teacher can’t be her first choice to join her in Krampus Village and start a family? What’s the catch? Does she bluff her hand or secrets about Krampus Industries?
